Many people are concerned about the cats on River Rd, so we reached out for permission to trap. There appear to be 12-15 cats in this colony. There are multiple feeders, so they seem to be healthy. We were able to trap 4 and had them fixed Dec 1. There were 3 females and a male- all under 2 years old. Two of the females were lactating, which means there are at least 2 litters of kittens! We saw 2 that may have been 5-6 weeks old, but are now concerned there may be a second, younger litter going into the winter.
Next trapping will be Dec 15-16 and I am calling on lots of volunteers and traps! We have 8 slots for spay/neuter, but I want to grab those kittens, if possible. Rescues are full, but we can try to get them off the street.
